So from their home in Georgetown Jackie did all she could to help her husband. She answered letters, taped commercials, gave televised and printed interviews, and also wrote a weekly syndicated newspaper column called "Campaign Wife."

Two weeks after her husband beat Richard Nixon in the election Jackie gave birth to John Fitzgerald Kennedy Jr. through Caesarean section.

The January of 1961 Jack was sworn in as President, making Jackie one of the youngest first ladies- at just 31 years old.  Jackie was also one of the most popular first ladies, with attributes like her youth, beauty, and intelligence. She didn't mind taking pictures or being in the public eye but she was very protective over her children's privacy.
