Many people speculated that Jackie's marriage to Aristotle Onassis was only for money, judging their age difference of over 25 years. It was also implied that this second marriage was an excellent distraction from the United States, and the Kennedy's.

Jackie was beginning to fear for herself and her children in the years after her husband's death. The assassination of her brother-in-law cemented this fear.

Although the sudden marriage between Jackie and Aristotle seemed to ruin the grieving widow image- the two of them seemed happy enough. They married on Onassis' private island, Skorpios and spent their life together (with Caroline and John Jr.) traveling between NYC, Paris, and Skorpios.

This time period Jackie wasn't always happy with the media attention she was receiving. The public was weary of her, they missed their perfect American couple-  John and Jackie.

Her marriage to Onassis lasted less the 1o years, because of Aristotle's death in 1975. Because Jackie wasn't Greek she was limited in the amount of money she could inherit.

At 46 years old, Jackie was a widow for the second time. Since her children were older Jackie chose to pursue work, rather then romance.
